I think it was the bravest move of any team in the draft. Locker has the strong arm to make throws on the run, and couples it with an innate ability to complete passes outside the pocket, where he shockingly completed 70.4 % of his passes last year.

Also, it will be beneficail that Locker doesn’t play in a big market city (such as New York, Philadelphia, or San Francisco) but he will still be the guy that every will be looking at come this November. Also with Chris Johnson carrying the ball, Locker will only have to dictate the game, not necessarily win it.

You picked a QB that I think will be a good one in Jake Locker – if you can fix his accuracy a bit – he is an awesome leader, tough as nails, physical like a young Favre and he is a first class human being… something you could use after Vince.

I find it very difficult to understand this “dismissal ” or whatever anyone chooses to describe it. It not only appears to me, but many other fans who have watched the rise and fall of our TITANS. The one thing that seemed to be the glue holding the team together was JEFF FISHER! It seems a bit strange to this writer, why, behind all of the immature shenanigans of Vince Young, did the fate of Jeff Fisher seem to come into play. It seemed apparent that Bud Adams favorite was VY. Jeff Fisher was and will.ALWAYS be in the hearts of millions the fans (or those of us who WERE fans, could take an NFL coach, the caliber of Coach Fisher, and toss him to the wayside! I really think SOMEONE with the common sense to see how this team fell apart …literally gone to hell in a handbasket! I will NEVER understand where Bud Adams thinks he going to find, at this juncture in his career! I cannot think of the TITANS without Jeff Fisher, behind the helm. Just as Bud parted ways with Jeff, I know of thousands who feel we’ve parted ways with the TITANS! IT WILL NEVER BE THE SAME! BUD, YOU WANT to re-visit this seemingly careless decisions! God bless you, Jeff Fisher † and ? you, wherever this ridiculous change may take you! Whoever is fortunate enough to embrace you unequivocal talent, hopefully THEY will realize just how fortunate they are to have you on the team we LOST TODAY!!

Ace, as a counterpoint, the last 3 franchise quarterbacks for the Oilers/Titans were African-American, which I think is extraordinary. I give Adams a lot of credit for bringing in Warren Moon. Tennessee fans loved McNair. Things just didn’t work out for VY.

At this point as a african american Tennessean, i am not surprised. Look, Steve McNair was locked out for unknown reasons. There is more to this than we will ever know. FACT: what african american has retired as a Titan?? Answer: zero
Question: Will there ever be a african american to be able to retire as a Titan?
FACT: only three retired as Oilers #1 Warren Moon; #34 Earl Campbell; #65 Elvin Bethea

Wow! I hope the owner made a smart decision in letting Vince Young go. I still believe he should have stuck with him for at least another year. Oh well, seven month till preseason starts. I can’t wait. lol!
